Publishing words. Stories. Dreams. Worlds. Lives.

We're currently looking for volunteers to help edit and proofread submissions, as our Assistant Editor is about to leave, and we are also expanding.

If you think you have the skills required, and are willing to volunteer, please email us and attach a short piece of writing (around 100 words). The writing must be yours. It must only be edited by you and you alone.

Email us at
burntduck@gmail.com

Additionally, if you can help us with publicising us and our books, please contact us as well.

We have now raised our standards for publishing material, considering the amount of submissions we are receiving each day.

Please refer to the submissions section (below) for more details.

We're also now on Facebook and MySpace!

Why not add us today, and help publicise us?

The first BDP anthology is now out.

Online version: PDF/$0.00.
Print version: Perfect-bound/$5.14.

Available for order/download at Lulu, here.

Excellent!

The BDP anthology will be out during the next week.

Alongside, we will shortly be publishing an book/anthology of poems, called My Words.

Watch out for both!

Submissions for BDP anthology #2 should only be submitted after the #1 anthology is released.

We are very sorry to say that we will have to undergo a change. Reviewing our situation, we have contemplated and considered our possible publishing solutions.

Rather than employing a printing press to bulk publish our book, we are sorry but we have to turn to this solution. Here are the changes.

BDP works almost like a “self publishing author”. Basically, we collect fiction/poetry. Then, in our anthology, we get it published by Lulu. However, the bigger difference is, we have a large market for our books, and we can advertise. Of course, we could do the same for you, under our name – meaning that we’ll advertise for you wherever we can, together with our anthologies which come out every several months. We’ll see whether we can do a book trailer.

We are a non-profit company. We do not earn. This means some of the privileges that come with traditional publishing will not be there, such as Royalties and IBSN.

The first BDP anthology will be released in late November.

Due to some formatting problems, we also have to cut down and thus put in several more specifications for submissions.

All submissions for the first anthology must be in before Saturday, 22nd of November.

We encourage those who have works to submit.

Furthermore, we are also looking for prospective staff members. You will not be paid, nor will you have to do much work. You will be mentioned in the magazine. Applicants must have almost impeccable understanding of English, be active, happy to do a little bit of work for no pay, and be reasonably well at the computer. If there is anyone who is keen, please contact.

Applications to be made to
burntduck@gmail.com

We have now modified Burnt Duck Publishing.

We no longer display pieces of writing on this site; instead, we collect all submissions until a reasonable number (currently twenty) have been submitted. Then, we will publish them into a free, online magazine.

There will also be an option of purchasing the hard copy of the magazine; however, please be assured that the price covers only the cost of printing, and thus, we do not earn any profit.

We hope that the first edition of BDP will be out shortly.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
BDP
